New blue beginnings, to create with Australian sapphire and gold is such an amazing feeling ✨️

Symmetry with curves - this was a challenge to get the curve perfectly lined up with the centre bar, but I do love a challenge.

Made with client's existing diamonds and 18ct yellow gold changed in to 9ct rose, it's simplicity and elegance makes this everyday ring a classic ✨️

A precious ring set modernised - 18ct yellow gold, a cabochon sapphire and diamonds.

My clients loved rings were well worn and passed the point where repairing it was cost effective, so an update in to a solid, modern and classy remodel

A handmade hollow heart, from upcycled 9ct yellow and rose gold, set with sentimental stones and hand engraved with a pretty design that suits perfectly 💖

The bracelet was much loved but worn too, so we replaced all the jump ring links, added the new heart charm.

Reimagining a favourite ring in to a new, stronger version.

Sandra had her channel set ring that had lost a stone and was rhodium plated 9ct yellow gold.

Reusing her stones, and remaking the ring in platinum, which means it will be shiny and strong for many years to come ✨️

I know I haven't been posting regularly for quite some time, I've had my hands busy at the bench and there's a lot going on behind the scenes in my life. We all do, and we all keep ourselves moving along.

I took some time out last week to celebrate my 'significant' birthday (can you guess?? Do you dare...🤣) in absolute paradise with a dear friend who also is a busy business owner, single mum and all round legend. We both don't stop so we made ourselves, which we both knew we needed.

We did talk a lot of business, our brains rarely stop anyway, so technically we worked. But we are great bouncing off each other and she's one of my biggest supporters in all aspects of life - thank you Vic 💖

Time to recoup and refresh, reset and restore.
Upcycled magic - reusing your gold is like magic, especially with the fact that gold prices have tripled in 10 years.

Your existing gold can be made in to anything my hands and mind can create, and what you dream up.

This bunch of old chain and unworn jewellery became a lovely solid wide bangle and men's band with beaten texture and engraving

Leia and Nic made their own wedding rings with me!

They had a secret wedding plan, which I was beyond honoured to be a part of, through guiding them creating their wedding rings in their private Create Your Own wedding ring workshop with me.

Leia wanted her wedder to fit her engagement ring, so with a bit of help from me, we got the shaped ring ready for her.

Nic chose a rough texture to his, which turned out absolutely stunningly. This ring was wholy made by him with some sideline guidance only.

Both had a hand in completing each other's bands, and they did such an amazing job having had zero experience making rings previously.

I engraved an eternity symbol inside each band for them, before delivering the rings for 40th birthday celebration turned surprised wedding.

Adding in some local bubbles and gourmet platter for them to top off their workshop, making their own rings for each other as part of their journey together was the complete experience ✨️🍾❤️

Cam and Ace wanted to reuse their old silver and gold, and to have matching mother and child pieces.

To make the greatest use of what they had, this design allowed us to make the gold in to fine wire to wrap around the channel.

There's always a way to make fabulous creations from minimal materials

There's a few photos to scroll through in this epic creation, but head to the last photo, to where this gorgeous bracelet was born from...

I'm so honoured to have the opportunity to make this bracelet for Jorja, it's actually the first bracelet of this complexity I've had the chance to create.

We reused her belcher bracelet for the links in between, saving on time, using diamonds, sapphires and gold from her existing pieces.

It was certainly a fantastic outcome 😍

A little change up for Vicki - she had a lonely earring with a diamond that would fit perfectly in her existing ring. I reused the white gold from the single earring to make the new bezel too, no extra gold needed to be bought.

I removed the yellow gold under rail from the settings, made a new under rail to fit 4 settings instead of 3, and fused the new under rail in to the existing band

Voilà
Skye's gorgeous daisy earrings have found their new home, with the cute pendant still waiting for adoption 🌼 (not even posted on website yet - testament to how awesome Skye's designs are)

Should Skye make another pair, or a new kind of flower?
Tanya wanted an updated version of her existing diamond halo ring. Her existing circular version was gorgeous but the style left a large gap. She also loves the fine art deco-esque millegrain, so we added that design feature to her new ring.

With remodelling her existing gold, Tanya saved herself substantial cost, and kept the original sentimentality, as her gold was remelted in-house in my Busselton workshop.

There were 2 spare diamonds from the original round halo, so we made them a feature under the main halo.

Très chic and sparkly ✨️

Restored and rejuvenated - we took Christine's existing cherished ring, and combined the settings with stones from another loved ring, recreating the two rings in to one.

Christine had all of her own gold, which is such a great way to create yourself a new piece of jewellery without the cost of gold hindering your dream designs

Life outside of jewellery making has been keeping me extra busy the last few weeks, but I am getting your pieces done, albeit a bit slower than I (and you!) would like.

I love having my jewellery work, fabulous appointments with you and daily creating to keep motivated.

Lots of fun and fabulous pieces on the horizon ❤️
I wanted to recognise an Australian gem cutter we all love and respect in the trade - not only for his amazing skills on the bench, but for doing it all while kicking cancer's butt - @langford_gems

March was Myeloma Awareness Month, a form of blood cancer. A dear friend in my life fought hard with this so I've followed Scott and Kendall's journey with all the hope that I can muster for them. And the least I can do is share the awareness of this disease and the work being done in this field to support them.

Every time I see Scott working at the bench in his posts, I'm grateful, and he has just recut an opal for me, and repolished and stunning aquamarine, ready to be created in to something special.

Cheers to you Scott, and to your support crew of Kendall and family, this is a journey you are all on and thought of often 💜
After the Regional Chamber of Commerce awards last night, surrounded by inspirational small businesses and the energy of self made legends, how could I not be inspired to brainstorm my next level up?

Although not a category winner, I was in the presence of 102 regional small businesses, of approximately 48000 that our amazing state has.

Each one of these businesses starts with an idea, a person or group who knows their idea has value, and then finds the support people to help them grow. And then finds the way to do all it takes to establish and grow their business to give you all the product or service you need. A special thanks to Victoria and Bron and all people from Busselton Chamber of Commerce for the ongoing support ❤️

One business in particular (everyone had inspirational stories) - Marine Biomedical from Broome - blew me away - they have worked out how to make bone from pearl shell for transplants - we need more people like this in the world!

I will settle for making people happy when receiving their custom pieces, or making their own in their private workshop, so for now, my thinking cap has been switched to how to make my next move happen.

Thank you for being on this journey with me and being of such a huge support. Let's do this!! 🙌

That's all we'll tell you at the minute ☺️

Colour celebration 🌈

Tourmaline, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Emerald, Amethyst, Diamond - a mix of all the favourite colours Alison loves with her gold. A gorgeous, fun design.

Sometimes the best laid plans just don't work. Initially, Alison chose a beautiful Australian boulder opal as the main stone for her ring - but despite the greatest of care, the opal cracked when being set. Opals are fragile, and I've set many in my time, but this one broke my heart. I loved the initial design.

If a jeweller says they've never had a stone break, it's not the truth. Making sure to come up with plan B and way to solve the situation is the only way to go.

This new design was meant to be, and now finally on Alison's hand ✨️
